Additionally, a new Push Rules Violations Report is available across Premium and Ultimate tiers, helping teams enforce branch protections and audit rule adherence with ease.

Improved Security Features

GitLab now includes auto-triage for secret detection alerts in Ultimate tier offerings. This reduces alert fatigue by automatically resolving known and previously revoked secrets, enabling teams to focus on real threats. A much-anticipated addition is support for conditional approval rules in merge requests, allowing flexible enforcement of rules such as requiring security approvals only if scans find a vulnerability.

The IDE experience continues to improve in GitLab 18.3. The Web IDE Beta now lets developers view and edit environment variables from the Web Terminal. Additionally, snippets and reviews have been enhanced for better collaboration.
